I got to know Marc Minnemann through working with Steven Wilson. We never met in person. Actually, we did once. When he played with his band The Aristocrats in Košice. After the show, he gave me his album My Sister, which I recorded his guitars on. During Covid, I discussed various musical topics with him via email.
What about Corona in the US? Does the government support musicians? In our country in Slovakia, it is quite complicated. The rules are set very complicated and help is not for everyone.
There are things such as the forgivable PPP loans which help companies through times like these, so if you as a musician have an LLC for example, you can apply. I know you through Steven Wilson. I recorded guitars for two of his projects. I think you were in his best lineup. How did your cooperation start and how did it end?
Oh thank you. Steven reached out to me and we started off really well. We then did some tours, some cool albums and more tours together. It ended once touring scheduling conflicts couldn’t be agreed upon or adjusted, between his band and my band The Aristocrats. So I had to make a choice, which came out in favor of my own band.
