Some of you may or may not have noticed that my electric guitar has the initials A.T. which stands for Andrei Tarkovsky. Above the pickups I have Stalker written in the azbuka alphabet. It's my favorite movie. But it's not my favourite because it reminds me of a pleasant time in my life or brings back certain memories. It's a work of art that raises questions I've been asking myself all my life, whether on my artistic journey or my private life journey. When I first saw Stalker, I had mixed feelings. It was long and boring. But it stayed in my memory and I thought about it intensely for several days. I watched it again. I was blown away by the shots, their length and composition. I realized that the film was getting under my skin and questions were coming out.
What is art for, what is its meaning?
What is the purpose of life?
What is the meaning of life anyway.
What is the meaning of faith?
Since then, the movie Stalker has been in my head ever since. That's why I put Andrei Tarkovsky's initials on my guitar and called it Stalker. One who seeks, believes and realizes, even if very slowly, that the journey is the destination.
There is a short video on youtube that I would like to share with you. It's hard to describe in such a short time what the movie Stalker is about, but maybe it will inspire you to watch this movie.
NEW IMPROVISED PIECE
I've posted a new improvised song called ... For FM #1. It's played on my baritone acoustic guitar with looper and guitar effects. The song was written under very funny circumstances. The music dramaturge of Radio FM in Slovakia wrote to me asking if I had any new ambient song. I wrote that I didn't have one, but let him give me 30 minutes and I'll send him one. I used a Guitar Rig and my Digitech Delay Looper. I enjoy playing acoustic guitar through various guitar amps.
(I recommend listening on headphones)
SUPPORT MY NEW ALBUM
On Indiegogo I'm trying to raise funds for mixing and mastering of my new album CALLS. The album, with the working title "CALLS" , will contain snippets of my phone calls with musicians and friends during the creative process.
During the creation of each album, I create a circle of people to whom I send my ideas. We then get on the phone together and talk about our feelings about a particular record and concept. These are either friends or musicians I collaborate with.
Listen to the demo with the great Erik Truffaz:
Campaign link: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/album-calls/x/17746814#/
If I don't raise at least 500 euros, the money will be returned to the contributors. It would really help me a lot if you could help me to share the campaign with your friends or people who might be interested in this album. There are interesting musicians on it like Marco Minnemann, Erik Truffaz, Arve Henriksen, Paolo Raineri and others.
Thank you for your time and support.
